The Wii Fit -- Beyond the Board
Fun and interesting things to do with your Wii Fit
If you're anything like me, you couldn't wait to get your hands on a Wii Fit, and for the first month or so you used it incessantly. But by now, the darn thing has started mocking you when you log in, forgets your name, and demands to know why you're neglecting it.
It's not your fault, either. There are only so many times you can shadow box a punching bag before you start to get bored.
But don't give up on the Wii Fit yet! Nintendo isn't foolish enough to let this franchise die, so there are plenty of new options showing up for the balance board -- and here are just a few.
1. Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum
Tired of the Wii Fit coaches? Let fitness superstar Jillian Michaels guide you to your fittest weight ever. This game allows you to enroll as a recruit in Jillian's boot camp. This fantastic game combines a hardcore workout with challenges and unlockable features such as you'd expect to find in a standard video game. You'll have hours of workout fun!
2. My Fitness Coach
Looking for a less militant approach to fitness? My Fitness Coach will carefully guide you through all aspects of your workout, health, and diet, providing as personalized a fitness assessment as you could ever expect from a video game.
3. All Star Cheer Squad
Did you suffer from crushed dreams of cheerleading in high school? Always wanted to rekindle your ability to do the splits? Then All Star Cheer Squad is for you. Using the Wii Fit and the balance board, All Star Cheer Squad leads you through a variety of realistic cheerleading moves and workouts.
Another interesting aspect of All Star Cheer Squad is how they use live motion capture to make sure that you were actually learning real moves from professional cheerleaders instead of clunky animations.
4. Active Life Outdoor
Moving slightly beyond the Wii Fit, you'll discover the active mat, which is basically a big controller that lets you physically push buttons by stepping on them. This fantastic invention lets you mirror more traditional video games without sitting on the couch. Get into the game with the outdoor challenge and have fun challenging other family members, too!
So if you're getting tired of your Wii Fit, never fear -- there are plenty of new options this holiday season.
