Robo-Raptor Roaming the Earth

Roboraptor toy is realistically dinosaurish

The 32" long Roboraptor is proof positive that dinosaurs are back and roaming among us!

Roboraptor -- Pet Dinosaur?

Roboraptor is an amazing combination of technology and personality, which is no surprise as toymakers constantly compete to 'push the envelope' of creativity in regard to the use of artificial intelligence for play.

The Roboraptor is such an amazing toy, it has garnered numerous awards in 2005, including the 2005 Honors Award from National Parenting Publications and a '3-Star' rating -- the highest -- from the Canadian Toy Testing Council.

So what's so amazing about this creature called the Roboraptor?

Roboraptor can walk, run and even has a realistic 'predatory' gait. He can turn his head and neck, and whip his tail. He even has three 'moods' -- aggressive, nervous or playful. The Roboraptor's built-in infra-red vision system can detect objects in his path or approaching him, and he is programmed to respond in 'mood-specific' -- and appropriate -- ways. The powerful jaws can play tug-of war games, "bite" (to pick small things up), and pull.

And that's just the beginning.

The Roboraptor has touch sensors in his tail, chin and mouth, and laser-tracking technology -- if you trace a path on the ground, he'll follow it! He also responds to commands from Robosapien, another popular and realistic dinosaur toy.

The Roboraptor seems to have a 'mind of his own' -- if you leave the switch on and leave him alone for 3 minutes, he goes into 'free roam' mode - don't leave him on the edge of a table, because he WILL go off to explore all by himself!

Free roaming -- during which time Roboraptor will stop occasionally to 'listen' for sounds -- can last for up to 10 minutes, depending on your battery power.

Roboraptor comes with 40 pre-programmed functions and a video-game style controller to make it all happen.

He also has an automatic shut-off mode, which is a good thing where easily-distracted children are concerned, because you'll need 6 “AA” and 3 “AAA” batteries for the remote controller to run him - and, of course, these are not included.
