Find Great Christmas Decorations to Make!
Try these beautiful Christmas decorations to make and give as gifts!
Whether you're short on cash or just want to add a personal touch to your holidays, finding Christmas decorations to make as gifts is the perfect solution to your holiday woes. It's remarkably easy to find Christmas decorations to make online, and they're perfect holiday gifts: personal, fun, and easy!
Toothpicks and Paint
The first of our Christmas decorations to make is a deceptively simple project. All you need is a small Styrofoam ball, some round toothpicks, gold paint, and a hot glue gun and gold ribbon for hanging.
Paint the Styrofoam ball and toothpicks gold. Let them dry, then stick the toothpicks into the Styrofoam at varying intervals. Once you're satisfied, hot glue a gold ribbon on top so these decorations can hang from Christmas trees. You'll be amazed at how attractive and professional these simple decorations look!
Old Fashioned Orange Sachets
If you want Christmas decorations to make from long ago, these sachets can't be beat! You'll need a mandarin orange, whole cloves, a ribbon about half an inch wide, and glue. Begin by gluing the ribbon around the orange's center, dividing it in half. Make a loop for hanging or glue another, thinner ribbon on top.
Once the glue dries, press cloves into the orange. Put them close together so they're touching. You can do the entire orange, or half of it, or work in sections: it takes longer than you expect! The cloves keep the orange fresh, resulting in a Christmas decoration popular many decades ago.
Safety Pin Candle Holders
These are great Christmas decorations to make for young and old alike! Once again, simple supplies combine to form a surprisingly polished product!
You'll need 36 size 2 safety pins, 54 pony beads, 60 inches of silver cord (cut into three lengths of ten), and 108 crystal beads (the kind shaped sort of like diamonds, in any color you like).
Begin by stringing three crystal beads on each safety pin. Close the pins and string one length of cord through the heads, placing a pony bead between pins. Begin putting the second string through the loops on the pin bottoms. String as follows:
1. Through an existing pin
2. Add a pony bead
3. Add a new pin (with beads)
4. Add a pony bead
5. Through an existing pin
Continue until all thirty six pins are strung together. Take the last cord and string the heads of the 18 new safety pins together, alternating with pony beads. When finished, tie the cords together. You now have a beautiful candle holder made of beads and pins!
These and many other Christmas crafts to make are perfect gifts for everyone on your list!
