Corpse Bride: Toys for Fans

Corpse bride figurines will rise to the occasion

The Corpse Bride is a new movie (October, 2005), and it's about a guy named Victor who messes up his lines at his wedding rehearsal.

The Story of A Corpse Bride

He goes into the woods to practice them so he can get it right, and places the wedding ring on a twig in the ground. That twig turns out to be the corpse bride's hand, and she now -- coming to life, of course -- claims to be his legal wife.

Corpse Bride is no horror story, though, or at least not your typical one. It's an animated musical complete with humor and a happy ending. Its creator, Warner Brothers, has now licensed McFarlane Toys to introduce plush toys and action figures based on the characters in the movie.

McFarlane Toys is an international award winning company and one of America's top action figure manufacturers, with several successful movie-licensing tie-ins, including The Matrix trilogy, Shrek, and X-Files. Japanese toy maker Jun Planning, renowned for their work on the "Nightmare Before Christmas" toys and figurines, is the creator of the Corpse Bride line.

From the Corpse Bride doll to some of the other creatures in the graveyard to some of the 'good guys' in the film (like General Bonesapart, for example, and the jilted 'real-life' bride, Victoria!), there's a toy version of all the most important characters in the Corpse Bride movie. There are also Corpse Bride accessories available, such as cell phone straps.

From fashion dolls to mini-plush to a collector's set of bendable action figures, the Corpse Bride character toys capture the unique style of creator Tim Burton's world.

This exciting new merchandise line from McFarlane Toys is geared toward the teen and young adult market (both male and female), and will be distributed in specialty and mid-tier retail outlets nationwide at the same time as the film's launch.

Corpse bride toys and figurines will 'rise to the occasion' of great gift-giving this season -- let there be no grave misunderstanding about it!
